Jewish Federation of Cleveland Raises Record $39 Million for Community
The Jewish Federation of Cleveland has set a remarkable milestone, raising a record $39,035,018 for its 2026 Campaign for Jewish Needs. This achievement stems from 9,036 gifts contributed by 12,094 donors, showcasing the community’s commitment to supporting both local and global Jewish initiatives.
The annual Campaign plays a vital role in ensuring the local Jewish community remains safe, vibrant, and welcoming while addressing needs worldwide. Significant contributions from prominent organizations have further bolstered these efforts. The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation matched every new gift dollar for dollar and provided additional matching funds for gifts increased by 10 percent or more during the campaign period from September 7 to November 1. Additionally, Brunswick Companies offered a unique incentive, donating an extra $1,000 for each donor who upgraded their contribution during campaign events.
The totals were unveiled at the Campaign Closing event held at the Hebrew Academy of Cleveland on December 8, 2025. General Campaign Chair Amir Jaffa emphasized the collective effort in achieving this milestone, stating, “This Campaign isn’t the work of one person, but of an entire community standing shoulder to shoulder, showing up for one another.” He further highlighted the impact of each gift in providing safety, dignity, and hope to those in need.
The event also featured special guest Eli Sharabi, an Israeli author and hostage survivor. Sharabi spent 491 days in captivity under Hamas before returning home on February 8, 2025. His memoir, “Hostage,” recounts his experiences with resilience and courage, resonating deeply with attendees.
Recognition was also given to Allison Brandon, who received the 2025 Ambassador Milton A. and Roslyn Z. Wolf Young Campaigner of the Year Award. Brandon’s contributions as co-chair of the Young Leadership Division Campaign and Super Sunday Kickoff were praised for exemplifying the spirit of tikkun olam, or repairing the world.
The Federation Board Chair, Jeffrey J. Wild, commended Jaffa’s leadership over the past two years. His guidance during challenging times has left a lasting impact, with Wild stating, “Amir led our community’s annual Campaign with clarity, courage, and heart.”
