Discover The Radicle: Logan Square’s New Bar Set to Shine
The anticipated bar and restaurant, The Radicle, is preparing to open its doors in Logan Square, bringing a fresh late-night option to the neighborhood. Scheduled for launch in early 2024, The Radicle is backed by the team behind Daisies, a restaurant recently named one of Bon Appétit’s eight must-visit spots for autumn. A sneak preview will take place on New Year’s Eve, allowing guests to experience the venue before its official opening.
At the helm of The Radicle is chef and co-owner Joe Frillman, a semifinalist for the prestigious James Beard Award. He is joined by bar director Nicole Yarovinsky, a two-time nominee for Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Awards. The establishment aims to blend coastal Italian drinking culture with Midwestern hospitality and local ingredients, creating a relaxed atmosphere that Frillman believes is currently lacking in the area.
Design and Experience
The interior of The Radicle, designed by Debaun Studio, features a warm and inviting ambiance ideal for after-work gatherings or leisurely dinners. The design incorporates repurposed furniture, reflecting Daisies’ commitment to sustainability. Patrons can expect a vibrant setting that encourages socializing over drinks and food.
Cocktails will be a highlight of the menu, with an emphasis on affordability. The offerings include Italian-inspired drinks such as the Sunday Negroni and a Sbagliato Rossini crafted with Lambrusco and strawberries. Additionally, the menu will feature low-proof and non-alcoholic options, ensuring there is something for everyone.
Culinary Offerings
The food menu at The Radicle is designed for sharing and is expected to feature a wider variety of seafood than Daisies. Diners can look forward to items like deviled eggs topped with trout roe, crispy lake perch with whitefish tonnato, and a selection of pizzas adorned with toppings like fennel sausage or summer peaches. True to Daisies’ legacy, vegetable-centric dishes will also play a significant role.
For those eager to experience The Radicle ahead of its official opening, the New Year’s Eve preview offers two options: a cocktail party for guests aged 21 and over, running from 22:30 to 01:30, featuring drinks, bites, and a midnight toast; or a three-course prix fixe dinner at Daisies, located just down the block.
As late-night culture continues to evolve, The Radicle is poised to be a standout destination in Logan Square, promising a lively atmosphere and enticing offerings at a reasonable price point.
