Community Mourns Passing of Shelley K. Sullivan at Age 52

Shelley K. Sullivan, aged 52, passed away on the morning of November 29, 2025, after a brief but intense battle with cancer. Her unexpected passing has left a profound impact on her community, family, and friends, who have come together to remember her loving spirit. Many find comfort in the belief that she is now at peace.

Born in South Bend, Washington, Shelley was the eldest child of Jack C. Horne and Brenda (Williamson) Seifert. When she was just two months old, her family relocated to Pullman, a college town that became an integral part of her life. Shelley graduated from Pullman High School, where she forged lasting friendships that continued to thrive through gatherings and reunions.

In the early 1990s, Shelley fell in love with George Lin, marrying him in 1996. After their divorce, she focused on her education and pursued a nursing degree. While working at a Starbucks in Spokane, she met Shaun Sullivan, whom she married on March 17, 2007. Their relationship was marked by love and mutual support until her passing.

Shelley earned her nursing degree from Washington State University in May 2009. Her adventurous spirit and caring nature were evident in her interactions with everyone she met. Family was at the heart of her passions, especially her nephews and nieces, whom she cherished deeply, along with her beloved dogs.

Shelley is survived by her husband Shaun, her mother Brenda (Dan), her father Jack (Marcy), and her siblings, including Tricia (Greg) James and Jill Seifert. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Stephanie Horne and Jessica (Seifert) Greco, as well as her cherished dogs Bailey, Ella, and Gidget. Her legacy continues through her numerous nephews and nieces, who carry her love forward.

A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. on January 17, 2026, at Pullman Presbyterian Church, located at 1630 NE Stadium Way, Pullman. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to one of Shelley’s favorite causes in her memory.

The outpouring of condolences, prayers, and support from the community has been a testament to the impact Shelley had on those around her. Her caring spirit and loving nature will be missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of many.
