Englewood Methodist Church will host its highly anticipated annual rummage sale from February 19 to 21, 2026. Located at 700 E. Dearborn, the church’s Fellowship Hall will welcome visitors to explore thousands of items available for purchase. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the event, which is known locally as one of the largest and most popular rummage sales in the area. The sale was not held in 2021 due to the pandemic.

For those eager to get the best selections, an “Early Bird” Pre-Sale will take place on Thursday, February 19, from 15:00 to 18:00. A nominal entry fee of $5 grants attendees early access to the treasures within. Visitors can obtain wristbands for this early admission at designated tents in the Fellowship Hall parking lot.

The main sale will be open to the public on Friday, February 20, from 09:00 to 15:00, and Saturday, February 21, from 09:00 to noon, with free entry on both days. Attendees can also enjoy affordable food options available each day, enhancing the overall experience.

Inside the hall, shoppers will discover a diverse array of items, including furniture, small appliances, electronics, toys, clothing, jewelry, craft supplies, books, and tools. With such a wide selection, bargain hunters will find plenty to delight them.

Methodist Women initiated this tradition, using the proceeds from the rummage sale to support various charitable causes both within the community and internationally. Over the years, the Methodist Men have joined this effort, collaborating to fund projects aimed at assisting those in need. Proceeds from the sale contribute to postsecondary scholarships for local youth affiliated with the church, which serves over 2,000 individuals each season.

In addition to scholarships, the Methodist Women support several local initiatives, including Englewood Meals on Wheels and Foundations Pre-School. Their Creative Workshop also organizes an annual Christmas Bazaar in November, which raises additional funds for charitable projects. The success of the rummage sale has led to the introduction of a Christmas-Only Rummage Sale, established seven years ago to accommodate growing donations.

The Methodist Men also enhance their fundraising efforts through their well-known Country Breakfasts, held every other Saturday from February 14 to March 28, from 07:30 to 11:00. Adults can enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast for $10, while children under 12 eat for free. Attendees can also browse handcrafted gifts and decorations made by the church’s Creative Workshop.

While donations for this year’s rummage sale closed on February 7, they will reopen after the event. Individuals interested in donating clothing and small items can utilize the donation shed located in the church’s back lot. For larger items or furniture, arrangements for pickup can be arranged by contacting the church once drop-offs resume.

For further information, including directions and details about the sale, visit www.englewoodmethodist.com or call the Church Office at 941-474-5588 during business hours from Monday to Thursday, 08:30 to 16:30. This event promises to be a community highlight, bringing together residents for a good cause while offering an opportunity to find unique treasures.
