New Jersey voters must act quickly, as today, October 14, 2025, marks the last opportunity to register for the upcoming general election. This election, scheduled for November 4, 2025, features a highly anticipated gubernatorial race between Democratic incumbent Mikie Sherrill and Republican nominee Jack Ciattarelli. Voters will also have the chance to make decisions on various local and state offices.

To ensure participation, potential voters are encouraged to verify that their registration information is accurate and up to date. This can be done through the New Jersey voter registration portal, which facilitates online registration for those who prefer digital methods.

Voting Methods and Key Dates

New Jersey residents have three primary options for casting their votes. For those who wish to vote in person, polling places will be open on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.. Voters can find their nearest polling location through the state’s official website.

In-person early voting will also be available from October 25 to November 2, 2025. Early voting hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

For voters who prefer to vote by mail, applications for mail-in ballots must be submitted by October 28. Voters can deliver applications in person to their County Clerk up until November 3. Once received, voters must fill out their ballots and return them by mail or deliver them to designated drop-off locations.

Candidates and Local Races

The gubernatorial election is not the only contest capturing voters’ attention. Seats in both the New Jersey State Assembly and Senate are up for election. Notably, Benjie Wimberly and Frank G. Filippelli are competing for the State Senate, while various candidates are vying for positions in the General Assembly.

Additionally, local races, including the mayoral election in Jersey City, will also be on the ballot. Voters are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the full list of candidates and the issues at stake.

As the deadline for voter registration approaches, it is crucial for eligible residents to act swiftly to ensure their voices are heard in this pivotal election.
