Country music legend Dolly Parton recently provided fans with a health update, acknowledging the emotional and physical toll following the death of her husband, Carl Dean, who passed away on March 3, 2025. During a video shared on March 13—the opening day of Dollywood—Parton revealed that she has faced some underlying health issues while grieving, but reassured her audience that she is taking steps to care for herself.

In the video, Parton candidly stated, “I’ve not been touring, as you know. I’ve had a few little health issues, and we’re taking good care of them.” This admission follows previous reports of her experiencing kidney stones last September, which required medical attention. She elaborated, saying, “I just kind of got worn down and worn out, grieving over Carl and a lot of other little things going on.”

Parton emphasized her need to focus on rebuilding herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Despite her struggles, she maintained a positive outlook, remarking, “But all is good. It didn’t slow me down.”

In a lighthearted moment, Parton addressed rumors regarding her personal life, playfully clarifying that she is not dating anyone since her husband’s passing. She jokingly noted that fans should not confuse Eugene Naughton, the President of Dollywood Company, for a new partner. “I think Carl Dean’s waiting for me,” she quipped. “If I should show up at the pearly gates with somebody else, he would not like that. He’d be saying, ‘Who’s that little pisser? You leave him outside the gates.’”

Parton also reassured her fans about her overall health in a video shared on October 8, stating, “I know lately, everyone thinks I’m sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here.” She explained that prior to her husband’s death, she had let some health matters slide, but expressed her determination to take care of herself moving forward. In a humorous touch, she concluded that video with the message, “I ain’t dead yet!”

The candid revelations from Parton reflect her resilience during a challenging time, and her ability to connect with her audience remains as strong as ever. Fans continue to show their support, admiring her openness and dedication to her health and well-being.
