The PCM Mustangs volleyball team saw its historic season come to an abrupt end on October 31, 2023, after suffering a defeat against the Williamsburg Raiders in the Class 3A Region 5 quarterfinals. This match marked the first encounter between the two teams since 2016, and the Mustangs lost in straight sets, with scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-11.

The defeat means that the Raiders have now improved their record to 4-0 against PCM since 2014. Notably, this was the first time during that period that the Mustangs were swept in three sets. Despite the loss, several players delivered commendable performances. Libby Winters led the team with nine kills, 11 digs, two assists, and three aces. Tori Lindsay contributed significantly with 11 assists, three kills, and six digs, while Addi Hudnut added four assists and eight digs. Jorja Teeter also played a key role with seven digs.

The Mustangs struggled with their serves, missing 12 out of 45 attempts but did manage to achieve six aces. Winters served flawlessly, going 10-for-10, and Lindsay completed 7-of-8 serves successfully. The team concluded its season with a record of 23 wins and 6 losses, marking their most successful campaign since achieving a school record of 25 victories in 2005.

On the other side, Williamsburg finished its season following a loss to the 10th-ranked Roland-Story in the regional semifinals. The Lady Norse are set to compete against fifth-ranked Humboldt in the regional championship match at 19:00 on November 7, 2023, in Humboldt.
