The mother of Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, Tonya Johnson, is relocating her apparel resale store, Mama B Resale Boutique, to Allentown this week. The boutique will officially reopen on Saturday at its new location, 107 N. Seventh St., following its initial launch in Bethlehem.

Originally established in March 2023 at 416 E. Fourth St. in Bethlehem, Mama B Resale Boutique specializes in selling new and gently used clothing, including shirts, pants, footwear, and children’s items. The move to Allentown represents a significant step for Johnson, who aims to broaden her customer base and provide more accessible shopping options.

Johnson previously expressed her motivation for launching the boutique: she sought to enhance the diversity of the local business landscape, particularly in response to the limited presence of Black-owned businesses in the area. Additionally, she aimed to create a resource for affordable clothing for nearby college students, who often seek budget-friendly options.

While neither Johnson nor the store could be reached for immediate comment, the grand reopening event is anticipated to attract community members and supporters of local businesses. The relocation marks a new chapter for Mama B Resale Boutique, as it seeks to establish a stronger foothold in the vibrant Allentown community.

With its focus on inclusivity and affordability, Mama B Resale Boutique aims to become a staple in the local retail scene, providing a unique shopping experience that reflects the values of its founder. As the store transitions to its new home, it looks forward to welcoming customers and fostering connections within the community.
