Amplius Wealth Advisors Increases Stake in iShares TIPS Bond ETF
Amplius Wealth Advisors LLC significantly increased its holdings in the iShares 0-5 Year TIPS Bond ETF (NYSEARCA:STIP) during the third quarter of 2023, raising its position by an impressive 17,600.5%. According to a recent disclosure with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the institutional investor acquired an additional 466,766 shares, bringing its total ownership to 469,418 shares. This move makes the iShares ETF the fifth largest position in Amplius’s portfolio, accounting for 4.2% of its total holdings.
At the end of the most recent quarter, Amplius Wealth Advisors valued its stake in the iShares 0-5 Year TIPS Bond ETF at approximately $48.5 million, representing 0.37% of the ETF’s total shares. This strategic investment comes amid growing interest in inflation-protected securities as investors seek stability in uncertain economic conditions.
Several other institutional investors have also adjusted their positions in the iShares ETF recently. For instance, LGT Financial Advisors LLC and Chapman Financial Group LLC each purchased new stakes in the fund during the second quarter, valued at around $26,000. Similarly, Trust Co. of Vermont entered the market with a new position worth approximately $32,000 in the third quarter.
In an even more remarkable move, Cape Investment Advisory Inc. increased its holdings by 35,300.0% in the first quarter, now owning 354 shares valued at $37,000 after acquiring an additional 353 shares. Meanwhile, Quaker Wealth Management LLC raised its position in the ETF by 200.0% during the second quarter, bringing its total to 420 shares worth $43,000.
The iShares 0-5 Year TIPS Bond ETF, which opened at $102.39 on Friday, offers exposure to U.S. Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) with maturities of less than five years. The ETF has demonstrated resilience, with a one-year low of $100.55 and a high of $103.93. Its 50-day simple moving average stands at $102.78, while the 200-day simple moving average is at $103.00.
