Ashley Furniture Expands to Moscow with New Store in 2026
Broad River Retail is set to open a new Ashley Furniture store in Moscow, Washington, in 2026. The upcoming location will span 24,683 square feet and will be the company’s second store in the Inland Northwest. This expansion marks a significant milestone for the South Carolina-headquartered retailer as it ventures beyond its traditional markets in the Southern United States.
The Moscow outlet joins a larger 101,249-square-foot Ashley Store and Outlet at NorthTown Mall in Spokane, where preparations are underway for its opening later this month. According to Tyler Trill, Senior Manager of Communications at Broad River Retail, this new store reflects the company’s commitment to the Inland Northwest. “Moscow’s energy, culture, and deep sense of community make it an ideal home for Ashley,” said Manny Rodrigues, President and Chief Operating Officer of Broad River Retail.
The expansion is part of a broader strategy by Broad River Retail to tap into markets with a demographic profile that matches their existing successful locations. Trill noted, “It has a population size we’re comfortable serving. It’s similar to markets where we’ve done well. We see a real opportunity in the region with room to grow.”
Store Features and Job Creation
The new Moscow store will introduce Ashley’s latest showroom concept, characterized by a bright, open layout focused on lifestyle collections. Customers will have the opportunity to explore furniture and decor for various spaces, including bedrooms, dining rooms, living rooms, and youth areas. This design aims to help shoppers visualize how these collections could fit into their homes.
Additionally, the Moscow location will offer a range of mattresses from reputable brands such as Tempur-Pedic, Stearns & Foster, Sealy, Purple, Nectar, and Ashley Sleep. The store will benefit from a new distribution center in the Spokane area, which will serve both the Spokane and Moscow-Pullman markets.
The new store is expected to create around a dozen jobs, spanning roles in retail sales, leadership, visual design, and operations. Average earnings for home furnishings sales associates at Broad River Retail reached $81,000 in 2024, with top performers exceeding $100,000. Broad River Retail, founded in 2003 and based in Fort Mill, South Carolina, is one of the largest independently owned Ashley licensees, operating 34 retail locations. The company employs over 800 people across its stores, distribution centers, and corporate offices.
This strategic move into Moscow is not just about expanding retail footprints; it represents Broad River Retail’s dedication to building community connections in new regions. As the company prepares for its latest venture, the focus remains on delivering quality products and services while contributing to local economies.
