Oregon Energy Facility Siting Council to Address Key Projects

The Oregon Energy Facility Siting Council (EFSC) is set to convene on March 19-20, 2024, at the SAGE Center in Boardman. The meeting will involve discussions and hearings on significant renewable energy projects in the region, specifically the Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility III and the Leaning Juniper IIB Wind Power Facility.

The first session begins on March 19 at 17:30 (5:30 p.m.) with a public hearing focused on the proposed order for the Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility III Amendment 1. This facility is designed to generate 50 megawatts of solar power across approximately 357 acres in Morrow County. The council aims to gather feedback from the community and stakeholders regarding this amendment.

Following this, on March 20, the council will hold a transfer hearing at 09:30 (9:30 a.m.) before reviewing a draft final order for the Leaning Juniper IIB Wind Power Facility. This facility features 74 wind turbines distributed over nearly 8,000 acres in Gilliam County.
