Influencer Paul Kim Mourns Loss of Son Micah After Medical Emergency

Catholic influencer Paul Kim is grieving the loss of his five-year-old son, Micah Joseph, who passed away following a medical emergency. In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram on January 1, 2025, Kim expressed his sorrow, stating, “Micah Joseph is beginning the new year basking in the never-ending glory, love, and peace of God.” He described his son’s new mission in heaven, emphasizing that Micah is now part of a “great cloud of witnesses” and that he feels immense pride as a father.

Micah died on December 31, 2024, after being on life support for over a week. Kim revealed that Micah was hospitalized due to a serious medical incident on December 21. Initially, doctors were hopeful as Micah’s lungs showed gradual improvement while on a ventilator. However, an MRI later indicated severe brain damage, leading to the family’s heartbreaking decision to withdraw life support.

Throughout this challenging period, Kim kept his followers updated, sharing the emotional rollercoaster with thousands of supporters, including notable figures like Gwen Stefani and Jonathan Roumie, star of “The Chosen.” In response to the overwhelming medical expenses, a GoFundMe campaign was initiated, which garnered significant community support.

In his January 1 post, Kim thanked everyone for their prayers and compassion, acknowledging, “Your prayers for Micah were answered, but in a different way than what we had all hoped for.” He found solace in his faith, stating, “God healed and welcomed him into eternal life. He is where we all want to be.”

During a poignant Instagram video, Kim shared his desire for privacy as his family navigates this profound loss. He expressed profound gratitude for the support received during what he described as “the hardest thing I’ve ever been through.” Through tears, he stated, “After fighting 11 long hard days, Micah went home to the house of our father. We’re so proud of him.”

Kim, a father of six and an ambassador for Cross Catholic Outreach, reassured his followers that his faith remains strong. He is confident that Micah hears his prayers and those of others. “Be assured that I will pray for you and your intentions for the rest of my life,” he said in a separate video, encouraging people to seek intercession from “Saint Micah.”

As Kim and his family begin to heal from this tragedy, they are surrounded by a community of faith and support. The outpouring of love and prayers reflects the deep impact Micah has had on those around him, even in his brief time on earth.
