Parenthood Set to Depart Hulu: What Fans Need to Know
The popular comedy-drama series Parenthood is scheduled to leave Hulu on October 24, 2025. The show, which follows the lives of the Braverman family in California, has captivated audiences with its relatable portrayal of marriage and parenthood over six seasons. Fans are eager to know the reasons behind its departure and where they can find it next.
The exit from Hulu appears to stem from an expired licensing agreement. With the license not renewed, the series will no longer be available on the platform. According to Just Watch, all six seasons of Parenthood can be purchased on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+. This is not the first time the show has faced removal from Hulu; it was briefly taken down in October 2023 but returned shortly thereafter. There remains a possibility it could return if the licensing situation changes.
Potential Future Streaming Options
If Parenthood shifts to another platform, Peacock may be a suitable option, as the series is under the NBCUniversal umbrella. Should it move to Peacock or return to Hulu, viewers would access it without additional fees, as it would be included in the regular subscription plans. The outcome of the series’ streaming rights remains uncertain as negotiations continue.
The show concluded after its sixth season, with reports indicating that financial considerations related to salaries and production costs played a role in its cancellation. Despite its end, creator Jason Katims has expressed interest in a possible reboot. In an interview with E! News, he mentioned, “It’s interesting, I think it’s getting to be like enough time has passed where you can really look at the next generation.” This suggests that the story of the Braverman family could be revisited in the future.
For now, fans of Parenthood are encouraged to explore purchase options on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+ before its departure from Hulu. As the series enters this transitional phase, viewers remain hopeful for its return in some capacity, either on Hulu or another streaming service.
