Pike Pidders Storytelling Festival Opens with Sold-Out Show
The opening night of the 2026 Pike Pidders Storytelling Festival at the We Piddle Around Theater in Brundidge has sold out, showcasing the event’s popularity. This annual festival features multiple storytelling concerts, with tickets still available for three performances scheduled at the Trojan Center Theater located on the campus of Troy University.
According to Cathy Steed, the ticket chair, the Trojan Center has a capacity of nearly 300 seats, and its acoustics are considered the “best” that storyteller Donald Davis has ever experienced. “There will be no problem with hearing wherever you sit,” Steed assured potential attendees.
Each of the three storytelling concerts will feature all four storytellers: Donald Davis, Josh Goforth, Naomi Faw, and Paul Strickland. Ticket prices are set at $10 for the 10 a.m. show, $15 for the 2 p.m. performance, and $10 for the 6:30 p.m. concert.
The festival is sponsored by the Brundidge Historical Society, with president Johnny Garrett highlighting additional entertainment. Prior to each storytelling concert, attendees can enjoy traditional music from local bands. The Benton Brothers will perform at 6:30 p.m. at the We Piddle Around Theater and at 9:30 a.m. at the Trojan Center, while the Shepherds will take the stage at 1:30 p.m.
As the festival continues through Saturday, attendees can expect a memorable closing concert that celebrates the rich tradition of storytelling. The combination of expert storytellers and local musical talent promises to create an engaging atmosphere for all who attend.
