The Region 2 Arts Council is now accepting applications for its Community Arts Support grants, which are designed to provide funding stability to arts organizations in the region. Organizations have until February 15, 2024, to submit their applications for consideration.

Supporting Local Arts Organizations

These grants aim to enable arts organizations to concentrate on enhancing the quality and availability of their programming. The funding is intended to support general operating expenses for arts groups located in Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, and Mahnomen counties. To qualify, these organizations must have a mission centered around arts programming and must have provided such programming for at least two of the past four years.

Grant amounts will range from $2,000 to $7,000 per year, depending on the specific needs and circumstances of the applicant. The funding is partially made possible by an appropriation from the State’s General Fund and the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, which was established through a legislative appropriation supported by Minnesota voters.

Application Process and Further Information

Interested organizations can find additional details and application information by visiting r2arts.org. The Council encourages all eligible organizations to apply, as this funding represents a vital opportunity to enhance the arts landscape in the region.

As communities continue to recover and thrive post-pandemic, these grants serve as a crucial resource for local arts initiatives, allowing them to maintain their operations and improve their offerings to audiences across the five counties.
