Sterling Heights Woman Claims $25,000-a-Year Lottery Prize
A woman from Sterling Heights, Michigan, has won a significant lottery prize through the Lucky For Life game, claiming a payout of $25,000 a year for life. Anita Yousif, aged 42, discovered her winning ticket several days after the draw on September 25, 2023, when she checked her numbers using the Michigan Lottery app.
Yousif purchased her ticket at the Mound Fuel Stop Inc, located at 5950 15 Mile Road. Her ticket matched the five white balls drawn: 05-07-19-28-34. “I play Lucky For Life often,” Yousif noted, expressing her disbelief upon checking her ticket. “When I realized how much I’d won, I couldn’t believe it; it’s hard to explain the feeling because I’m still trying to comprehend it.”
Claiming the Prize
After confirming her win, Yousif visited the Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. Instead of opting for the annual payments of $25,000, Yousif chose a one-time lump sum payment of $390,000. With her newfound wealth, she plans to pay off her house, settle outstanding bills, and save the remaining amount for future needs.
The Lucky For Life lottery game offers players the chance to win various prizes, starting at just $2 per play. Prizes can range from $3 to a lifetime payout. To secure the top prize of $1,000 a day for life, participants must match all five winning numbers from 1 to 48, in addition to one Lucky Ball number from 1 to 18. Players who match the five winning numbers but not the Lucky Ball are awarded $25,000 a year for life.
Drawings for Lucky For Life occur daily at 10:38 p.m., providing multiple opportunities for players across the state. Tickets are available at various lottery retailers and online at MichiganLottery.com.
