The D.C. Council is set to conduct two significant meetings on January 20, 2024, providing opportunities for public participation both virtually and in person. The first session, the Committee of the Whole, will commence at 11 a.m., followed by a Legislative Meeting. This initiative aims to foster engagement and transparency within the political process.

Participants can join the discussions via a Zoom Webinar, which requires registration due to a new link for 2026. Access to the webinar will be restricted once a quorum is confirmed, as stated by the Council of the District of Columbia. For those who prefer alternative viewing options, the meetings will also be broadcast live on the DCC Network, available on Channels 13 and 18, as well as streamed on the city’s Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment website.

In addition to traditional broadcasting, the Council’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel will provide live access, ensuring that a broad audience can engage with the proceedings. Recordings of the meetings will be available on the Council’s website within a day of the event, allowing for further review and accessibility.

For individuals attending in person, meetings are held in Room 500 at the John A. Wilson Building. Registration is mandatory, and a confirmation email is required for entry. The Council aims to accommodate diverse needs by offering closed captioning on the DCC Network and the office’s website, along with live interpretation for Zoom and social media broadcasts.

This initiative by the D.C. Council underscores a commitment to inclusive governance, allowing citizens to stay informed and involved in the legislative process.
