Tim Tebow Advocates for Stronger Support for Young Men

Former NFL quarterback and founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation, Tim Tebow, has called for increased resources to address child abuse and exploitation, highlighting a broader issue affecting young men across the United States. In a recent appearance on “The Ingraham Angle,” Tebow discussed the alarming trend of declining resilience and responsibility among boys, attributing it partly to the pervasive distraction of mobile phones in their lives.

As various states, including New Jersey, Indiana, and Florida, implement stricter regulations on phone usage in schools, there is a growing recognition among parents and educators that these devices are symptomatic of deeper societal issues. Tebow pointed out that young men are increasingly struggling with the fundamental skills necessary for adult life, such as focus, perseverance, and the ability to manage responsibilities.

As the president of Colorado Christian University, Tebow witnesses firsthand the challenges faced by young men entering higher education. Many arrive eager and capable, yet falter when confronted with routine tasks. They often lack the capacity to engage in sustained attention or accept constructive criticism, leading to difficulties in meeting basic expectations.

The statistics illustrate a troubling trend. In October 2024, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that only 55.4% of young men aged 16-24 were enrolled in college, compared to 69.5% of young women. Furthermore, a 2025 Gallup survey revealed that 25% of U.S. men aged 15-34 felt lonely frequently. Labor force participation among men aged 20-24 has also seen a significant decline, dropping from 82.6% in 2000 to a projected 68.2% by 2032.

Tebow emphasized that the decline in young men’s engagement in education and the workforce signals a need for a renewed focus on developing “noble masculinity.” He advocates for mentorship and the restoration of meaningful standards that promote respect for authority and personal responsibility. He believes that young boys should not navigate their formative years in isolation, but rather through sustained relationships with positive male role models.
