Kevin Nash Predicts CM Punk’s Downfall Ahead of Title Match

Kevin Nash, a prominent figure in professional wrestling, has expressed doubts about CM Punk’s current capabilities as the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. In a recent episode of his podcast, Kliq This, Nash suggested that Punk should lose the championship to Bron Breakker during the upcoming episode of WWE Raw on January 5, 2026, held in Brooklyn, New York.

Nash’s critique stems from Punk’s performance in a tag match on the previous episode of Raw, which aired on December 25, 2023. In that match, Punk teamed up with Rey Mysterio to face Austin Theory and Bronson Reed. The contest ultimately ended with a victory for Theory and Reed, followed by a spear delivered to Punk by Breakker.

During his podcast, Nash did not hold back in his assessment. “I watched Punk in the main event of that match last Monday. Number one: if you’re the Heavyweight Champion of the WWE and you wrestle in a T-shirt — ouch,” he stated. He further remarked, “His punches looked really slow. He looked slow. I think it’s time for him, I think he’s done. I think Bron should beat him.”

Nash’s comments underscore a growing narrative among fans and analysts regarding Punk’s performance in the ring. As the wrestling world gears up for WrestleMania season, a title change could significantly impact storylines moving forward. Nash, a WWE Hall of Famer with a storied career, has had his share of rivalries, including a notable feud with Punk himself during the Punk vs. Triple H storyline in 2011.

The upcoming Raw episode, which features the highly anticipated match between Punk and Breakker, will also be special for another reason. It will include a crossover with the popular Netflix series “Stranger Things,” marking a unique blend of entertainment and wrestling that has the potential to draw in a wider audience. Additionally, this episode celebrates the one-year anniversary of Raw’s availability on Netflix, further heightening anticipation among viewers.

As the date approaches, fans will be eager to see if Nash’s predictions hold true and whether a new champion will emerge from the showdown between Punk and Breakker.
