The Dallas Mavericks and the Houston Rockets are scheduled to play two preseason games in Macao as part of the NBA China Games 2026. These matches will take place on October 9 and October 11, 2026, at The Venetian Arena. This event marks a continuation of the NBA’s commitment to engaging with fans in Asia and highlights the growing popularity of basketball in the region.

In addition to the games, the NBA and co-sponsor Sands China Ltd. will host a series of fan events and programs focusing on health and wellness throughout the week. This initiative aims to promote a holistic approach to sports and healthy living, further enhancing the experience for attendees.

Patrick Dumont, the governor of the Mavericks and chief operating officer of Las Vegas Sands, emphasized the importance of the NBA China Games in fostering fan engagement. “The success of the NBA China Games 2025 demonstrated the strength of the NBA in creating fan engagement and exciting experiences around the globe,” Dumont stated. “The NBA China Games 2026 will be another great opportunity to showcase the league, its world-class athletes, and the excitement it brings.”

The previous iteration of the NBA China Games featured a match-up between the Phoenix Suns and the Brooklyn Nets, held at the same venue. The upcoming games will mark the 16th edition of the NBA China Games, reflecting the NBA’s enduring commitment to expanding its reach in international markets.

Macao, known for its vibrant entertainment scene and rich cultural heritage, offers a unique backdrop for these games. The partnership with Sands China, which operates several resorts across Asia, including The Venetian Macao, is expected to enhance the overall experience for fans and players alike.

As basketball continues to gain traction in various parts of the world, events like the NBA China Games play a crucial role in bridging cultures and promoting the sport on a global scale. The excitement surrounding the matches and the accompanying fan events is anticipated to draw significant attention, further solidifying the NBA’s presence in Asia.
