Raleigh’s Powell Drive Park to Host Exciting Snowball Showdown

Powell Drive Park in Raleigh will transform into a winter wonderland for children on February 20, 2024, as it hosts the inaugural Snowball Showdown. This event is a unique winter-themed twist on the classic game of Capture the Flag, where children will engage in friendly competition using soft faux snowballs. The initiative promotes active play while steering kids away from screens.

Two teams, the Snowmen and the Polar Bears, will compete to capture the flag amidst a flurry of fun. Activities are scheduled to cater to different age groups, with children aged 6 to 7 participating at 17:45 and those aged 8 to 9 at 19:15. Each session promises an hour of energetic play and laughter, aimed at fostering teamwork and physical activity.

Participation in the Snowball Showdown costs $10 per child. After the games, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious treats, including gooey s’mores, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
