Tyler Reddick Makes History with Three Straight Wins in NASCAR
Tyler Reddick made history on March 2, 2026, at the Circuit of the Americas by winning three consecutive races to start the NASCAR Cup Series season. Driving the No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE, Reddick’s achievement marks a significant milestone, as no driver had accomplished this feat since the inception of the Cup Series in 1949. His success is closely linked to the collaboration between team owners Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan, whose partnership has proven to be a formidable force in the racing world.
The duo’s approach to team ownership has been characterized by a focus on teamwork and shared goals. In the aftermath of Reddick’s victory, both Hamlin and Jordan deflected praise toward each other, highlighting their mutual respect and the importance of collaboration. Hamlin described their relationship as “a perfect partnership,” emphasizing Jordan’s role in giving him the autonomy needed to build a competitive race team.
When Hamlin sought to establish a race team, he faced challenges in securing control from existing team owners. Jordan’s willingness to provide that control was pivotal. “He was just so appreciative of the fact that he says, ‘Okay, here’s my percent, here’s your percent, but you’re going to have to build it. You’re going to have to do the work,’” Hamlin explained. This hands-on approach has allowed Hamlin to take the reins and develop the team from its inception.
23XI Racing’s Rapid Ascent
When 23XI Racing began, it was a small team with just three members and no resources. Hamlin reflected on their humble beginnings, stating, “We had zero. We didn’t buy a team, didn’t do anything, just built it. And this is what we’re doing. It’s pretty amazing.” The team’s rapid ascent in the NASCAR circuit is a testament to their hard work and strategic planning.
The last time a team won the first three races of the NASCAR Cup Series season was Petty Enterprises in 1963, which adds to the significance of this achievement. Both Hamlin and Jordan expressed their excitement, recognizing the historical weight of Reddick’s performance. Jordan praised Hamlin’s leadership, stating, “A lot of credit goes to him because he’s the mastermind behind finding Tyler. I think Denny’s done an unbelievable job in terms of helping build this team.”
As the team prepares for the upcoming race at the Phoenix Raceway, they have a chance to set a new record by winning four consecutive races. The anticipation surrounding this potential achievement is palpable, and both owners are eager to see how their team performs.
With their innovative approach and commitment to excellence, 23XI Racing has solidified its presence in NASCAR, proving that teamwork and vision can lead to remarkable success on the track. As the season progresses, fans will be watching closely to see if this dynamic duo can continue their historic run.
