Urgent Search for Nancy Guthrie Enters Day 34 Amid New Leads
UPDATE: Day 34 of the desperate search for Nancy Guthrie is underway, as authorities reveal new insights into her mysterious disappearance from her home in Tucson, Arizona. The 84-year-old mother of NBC “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie has been missing since February 1, 2026, and law enforcement officials are intensifying their efforts to locate her.
On Thursday, Savannah made her first appearance back on the “Today” show set since her mother’s disappearance, showing unwavering support for her family during this critical time. A spokesperson confirmed to Fox News Digital that Savannah remains dedicated to her family’s efforts while planning to return to the show in the future.
In a significant development, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos announced that DNA found on a glove approximately two miles from Nancy’s home did not link back to her case, but to a restaurant worker unrelated to the investigation. Other items, including additional gloves, are currently being analyzed at a private lab in Florida.
Authorities are actively canvassing Nancy’s neighborhood, going door-to-door in search of potential witnesses. In light of her suspected abduction, investigators are urging residents within a two-mile radius to review their surveillance footage for anything unusual captured between January 1 and February 2.
Amidst the ongoing search, Savannah and her family were seen placing flowers at Nancy’s residence, expressing their gratitude for the community’s support. Savannah shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, stating, “We feel the love and prayers,” and urged followers to continue their hopes for Nancy’s safe return.
In a troubling twist, TMZ reported a “highly sophisticated” ransom demand involving cryptocurrency, echoing a previous ransom request of $6 million. The FBI has been alerted to this demand, which includes graphic threats if the ransom is not paid.
The family is offering a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy’s recovery. Anyone with relevant details is urged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department’s tipline.
As the community rallies together, all eyes remain on the authorities as they continue to pursue every lead in hopes of bringing Nancy Guthrie home. Stay tuned for further updates as this story develops.
