Jason Isaacs has publicly expressed his envy regarding the filming location of the fourth season of *The White Lotus*, which is set to take place in France. During the *Golden Globes* on January 11, 2026, Isaacs, who portrayed Timothy Ratliff in the third season, revealed his feelings in an interview with *Entertainment Tonight*. “Pure jealousy,” he admitted, noting that France is much more accessible for him compared to the previous season’s filming in Thailand.

Isaacs, who lives within train distance to France, reflected on the advantages his friends will have while filming in a picturesque locale. He remarked, “It’s not a 15-hour flight like it was in Thailand. But the truth is, I am jealous because I’ve got friends who are going to be in it, and they’re going to have the ride of their lives.” His comments highlight not just his admiration for the new season but also the unique storytelling talent of series creator Mike White.

The actor fondly recalled his time in Thailand, where he faced dramatic challenges as his character navigated financial troubles while nearly serving poisonous smoothies to his on-screen family. Isaacs’ performance garnered significant recognition, including a nomination for Best Performance in a Supporting Role on Television at this year’s *Golden Globes*. Reflecting on his journey, he expressed gratitude for the experiences he gained while working on the show. “It was a magnificent time,” he said. “Mike White is a fabulous storyteller. You stand in his wake and things like [the Globes] happen to you. You get nominated for awards for being the luckiest in showbiz.”

New Additions and Plot Developments

The anticipation for the upcoming season has been further fueled by HBO’s recent announcement that *Hunger Games* star Alexander Ludwig and singer-actress AJ Michalka will join the cast. The network revealed that this new installment will follow a fresh set of guests and employees at the *White Lotus* hotel over the span of one week, continuing the format that has captivated audiences since the show’s debut in 2021.

In a recent discussion on the show’s direction, Mike White expressed a desire to explore new themes in season four. “For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular,” he stated during an “After the Episode” segment last April. He also hinted that the series would continue to delve into dark narrative elements, suggesting, “But there’s always more room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”

Despite his departure from the series, Isaacs remains enthusiastic about the future of *The White Lotus*. “Mike texted this morning,” he shared with *The Hollywood Reporter* in December. “They’ve got their head already busy, deep in locations, in casting the next one. And like everybody else, I can’t wait to see it.”

As the excitement builds for the new season, fans of the show and Isaacs alike are eager to see how the *White Lotus* narrative will unfold in its next chapter. The combination of new characters, a stunning setting, and White’s acclaimed storytelling is sure to create another memorable experience for audiences.
