PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, operating in Bakauheni, has announced the deployment of **57 ferries** equipped with various facilities to accommodate the anticipated surge of travelers during the **2026 Lebaran holiday**. The service will focus on the route between **Merak and Bakauheni**, aiming to facilitate the smooth transport of millions across the **Sunda Strait**.

According to **Partogi Tamba**, General Manager of PT ASDP Bakauheni, the ferries are confirmed to be in optimal condition and ready to serve passengers. “We have conducted preliminary testing to ensure the ferries are fit for operation, and thankfully, they have passed all checks,” Tamba stated on **March 6, 2026**.

In addition to the ferries, essential operational facilities including mobile bridges, ramps, and gangways have undergone thorough inspection. This preparation is intended to ensure that all services are operational and efficient during the busy holiday period.

ASDP anticipates a **2.11% increase** in the number of travelers compared to the previous year. To effectively manage the influx of passengers and vehicles, all stakeholders at **Bakauheni Port** have agreed to implement an efficient arrival-unloading-departure system.
