In a significant development for healthcare in north-central Idaho, St. Mary’s Health and Clearwater Valley Health have announced the acquisition of Arnzen Super Drug Inc. This purchase includes the well-established pharmacy locations in Cottonwood, Kamiah, and Orofino, marking a continuation of Arnzen’s legacy of pharmacy care that has served the region since its inception in 1890.

According to Lenne Bonner, CEO of both St. Mary’s Health and Clearwater Valley Health, the organizations express gratitude for the foundation laid by Arnzen’s over the past 135 years. Bonner emphasized the commitment to uphold the values of integrity and dedication that Rod Arnzen and his team have exemplified in providing healthcare services to the community.

Commitment to Community and Care

“We are incredibly grateful for the foundation that Arnzen’s has established,” Bonner stated. “Arnzen and his staff have served this region with integrity, dedication, and a genuine understanding of rural health care. We could not be more thrilled to carry this mission forward and ensure that these essential pharmacy services remain not only available but strengthened and expanded.”

Rod Arnzen expressed his support for the transition, highlighting the importance of continuity for his patients. “I am so excited to see the Arnzen legacy continue forward with Kootenai Health, St. Mary’s Health, and Clearwater Valley Health,” he remarked. “It ensures my patients will receive the exceptional local care and continued service from my staff that they’ve relied on for so many years — and for many more years to come.”

As part of the acquisition, the pharmacies will continue operating with their existing staff, ensuring that patients receive the same personalized service they have come to trust. Bonner noted that the partnership aims to enhance resources and coordination of care while investing in local pharmacy services.

Looking Ahead

St. Mary’s Health and Clearwater Valley Health plan to share more information as the transition progresses, with no disruptions to patient services anticipated. The commitment to maintaining and expanding pharmacy services reflects a broader goal of improving healthcare access for the communities served.

This acquisition signals a forward-thinking approach to healthcare in the region, one that honors the past while looking toward a strengthened future for pharmacy services in north-central Idaho.
