A new padel court construction project in Permata Hijau, located in Kebayoran Lama, Jakarta, has sparked controversy leading to a police report filed by local residents. The complaint, citing disturbances to public peace, was submitted to the Polda Metro Jaya on February 2, 2026, and is officially recorded under the number LP/B/863/II/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.

According to Kombes Budi Hermanto, the Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, the report reflects concerns over alleged violations regarding environmental tranquility. He confirmed to reporters on February 24, 2026, that the complaint has been received and is currently under review.

The specific legal basis for the complaint is Article 265 of the Indonesian Criminal Code, which addresses disturbances to public order. Hermanto stated, “This case has been transferred to the South Jakarta Metro Police for further processing.”

Residents have expressed significant unease about the ongoing construction, fearing it could disrupt their daily lives and diminish the quality of their neighborhood. Many are calling for a reassessment of the project’s implications on local peace and community standards.

As the situation develops, community members await further actions from local authorities and the police, hoping their voices will lead to a resolution that prioritizes public welfare alongside development initiatives.
