In discussing Schwartz’s emotional response, Cabot revealed the depth of his disappointment. “He was very upset by this,” she explained. “His heart and soul has been in this defense. He loves the Cleveland Browns, or loved the Cleveland Browns.” Schwartz’s connection to the team runs deep; he began his career as a personnel scout for the franchise in 1993.
