Kevin Patullo Joins Dolphins as Passing Game Coordinator

Former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo has secured a new position as the passing game coordinator for the Miami Dolphins. This transition comes after a challenging year with the Eagles, where he was relieved of his duties following the 2025 season. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Patullo has accepted the role under head coach Jeff Hafley and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.

During his tenure with the Eagles, Patullo spent five years on the coaching staff, initially serving four years as the passing game coordinator before stepping up as offensive coordinator and play caller in 2025. Following the conclusion of the Eagles’ disappointing season, the organization offered him a different coaching position, which he ultimately declined in favor of the opportunity with the Dolphins.

New Beginnings in Miami

At 44 years old, Patullo brings a wealth of experience to Miami, having previously worked with various NFL teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets, and Indianapolis Colts. His connection to the Dolphins comes at a time when the franchise is in need of direction, particularly concerning its quarterback situation.

The Dolphins have faced uncertainty at the quarterback position, especially with Tua Tagovailoa, who has been their starter when healthy since Week 6 of 2020, not expected to return. Last season, the Dolphins concluded with Quinn Ewers at quarterback, a former seventh-round pick. They also had Zach Wilson, selected second overall in the 2021 draft, on the roster, but he is set to become a free agent this spring.

While Patullo and Hafley have not previously worked together, they share a common background, having both grown up in North Jersey during the late 1990s. Hafley graduated from Pascack Hills High School in 1997, while Patullo completed his education at Hillsborough High School in 1998.

Changes at the Eagles

The Eagles announced Patullo’s departure just two days after the season concluded. In a swift move, they replaced him with Sean Mannion, the quarterbacks coach for the Green Bay Packers, marking the seventh different play caller for Jalen Hurts in his professional career.

Patullo’s exit marks a significant change in the Eagles’ coaching staff, which has seen multiple members depart. Notably, offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland has stepped away, and tight ends coach Jason Michael has been replaced by Ryan Mahaffey, who will also take on Stoutland’s former role as running game coordinator. Other notable departures include defensive backs coach Christian Parker, who has taken a position as the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, and defensive assistant Tyler Yelk, who has accepted a role at the University of Nebraska.

Despite the turnover, some members of the Eagles’ offensive coaching staff are expected to remain, including running backs coach Jemal Singleton and receivers coach Aaron Moorehead. Additionally, former passing game coordinator Parks Frazier is anticipated to assume a different role in 2026, while the future of quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler remains uncertain.

Patullo’s arrival in Miami marks a new chapter for both him and the Dolphins as they navigate the upcoming season with a focus on revitalizing their passing game and establishing a stable quarterback situation.
